There are still some burial spaces left in this cemetery. Additionally, there are many rose trees in an attractive setting to lease. Ashes can be scattered at the rose tree and memorials bought from Bereavement Services to memorialise a loved one can be placed at the tree. We ask leaseholders to refrain from placing fencing, decorative stones or other items of unauthorised memorabilia.

The cemetery
This Cemetery has Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) graves within it.
There are 250 identified casualties buried in this cemetery from WW1 & WW2.
This is a lovely ‘old’ cemetery, it is home to an array of wildlife and many beautiful mature native trees.
The Cemetery was laid out in 1873-74 and extended later. It covers an area of nearly 23 acres. The cemetery was severely damaged by enemy aircraft during the 1939-1945 War due to its proximity to Hull docks and heavy bombing.
There is a former chapel at the back of the cemetery. This is no longer in use and the building cannot be accessed. This building originally had the first municipal cremator to be used in the UK. First used circa 1904.
The Chapel is a listed building, it is an imposing structure.
Near the Chapel is an old Columbarium wall, this is where ashes were interred during the early to mid 20th century.
Access
The Cemetery is only accessed via wrought iron gates located directly fronting Hedon Road (A1033 eastbound). There is pedestrian and vehicular access. Roads within the cemetery will take you by car to general areas only, walking may be required. Roadside parking only is available (no designated car parking spaces).
